SNOW!
I went out and built a snowman in t-shirt and shorts. Somehow, on grass, managed to cut my knee up and it's all bleeding :o(
I'm debating whether to get up at 7am for uni tomorrow since the weather people say it's gonna keep snowing til about 6am. Right now, I'm edging more toward not bothering. |

I just made coffee. Two tablespoons of coffe and 2 of sugar all in my big Starbucks mug. It's really black.

Okay, so started placement on Monday. Was looking forward to it but also rather apprehensive. Not done any of it for over 15 months so I wasn't sure how well I'd do. Luckily I started in fluoroscopy so it'd be a pretty easy start, just a lot of watching. So I thought. Been 3 days now and every day I've been using the machine. This is pretty big, to be fair. It's not like a normal x-ray, the doses are much larger cos folk can be on the table for 40 minutes, it's also aiding a radiologist so if I fuck up, I get a bollocking. Been mostly seeing ERCPs which is basically folk getting a camera shoved down their throats into their stomach then out a bit and up then a wire put up into their bile duct. They're great to watch. Annoys me when the radiolgists say "screen" which means to start x-raying (cos instead of a single picture, in fluro it's more constant x-rays to make a video) and then they don't say stop. So you have to keep an eye on them to spot when they stop looking at the screen. Most of the radiologists are serious bastards and about as joyful as a wake but I was with a guy yesterday who was a great laugh. He was dicking about and joking, makes it much more comfortable. He was doing facet joints, which is when he sticks needles into a person's spine and injects a dye. Some of them even got the joy of having a wee electric current put through them. That was all yesterday afternoon and I was in charge of the machine for the whole time. That's pretty freakin' big for me.
There's been some boring times too. Fluoro can kinda dry up as the day goes on, today I was finished at lunchtime and spent the whole afternoon just floating about. Snuck a peak at my Continuous Assessment forms and I'm getting Ps, Cs & Es (it goes Observed, Assisted, Performed, Confident, Established, Distinction) so I'm doing well. And I'm enjoying it. So it's ald good.
Less good is having to wake up at 7am. That's pretty torturous. Fell asleep on the bus coming home yesterday.
On the plus side though is I got my student loan. Was out on Friday for drinks for my birthday, which I don't think I ever wrote about. Anyway, went out for drinks, the old bastards went home so I went out with Ross' wee bro and his friend. It was a great laugh. Went to the cash machine to get money and I had hundreds in there. Banter. Checked it again yesterday after talking to Joanne and she'd said she hadn't received her bursary which was meant to go in on Monday. So I checked my balance and I had even more hundreds. Beltin'. So! I'm thinking about buying myself a new TV and a PS3. Pretty much purely cos I can. Well, I want a new TV cos the one in my room is old. Well, bout 6 years but still.
I had a nosebleed on the bus today. It wasn't cool. Sitting on a bus for 40 minutes trying to hold blood back in my nose, it was shit. Throat was absolutely killing me from all the blood trickling down it, stung like hell. Anyway, got in and blew all the crap in my nose out. Shoulda seen what came out. Actually you can cos I took pictures of it, haha! I'll stick them behind a cut cos they're pretty mankin'. I then vomited all the blood out from my stomach which was mankin' too.
